On Target

by kmcopeland

Big news – Target is celebrating its 5 year anniversary of its designer collaborations with a special Go International collection that drops March 13. The collection features pieces from 17 of the designers that Target has previously collaborated with, and FabSugar offered a sneak peak last week. Best of all? Every item is under $50.

I hesitate to write this because maybe I’m just in a mood and will love them tomorrow, but I’m a little disappointed with the collection. They are all re-releases-nothing that you haven’t seen before. And overall the selection left me with a feeling of…meh. You should definitely go here and check them out for yourselves, but the only ones I am mildly excited about are:

On a more positive note, Target has some really cute stuff in home goods that make me really, really miss my Sunday afternoon shopping sessions. I see this being a monthly feature on this here blog. What do you think?

To all my baby-making friends: I hope you like hippos because Auntie Katie is going to be the official hippo lady.

For the Birds

by kmcopeland

Came across this pillow in Furbish Studio’s online shop and I heart it. Buy it here.

Or you could go tropical with these vintage ones on Ebay for only $10! Buy here.

Either way, someone should buy some bird pillows, then send me pics of them in your place so I can live vicariously through you. Deal?

February Picks

by kmcopeland

Sweden in winter is a lesson in different shades of gray – gray skies, gray slush, gray moods. That’s why this month’s picks are decidedly un-gray. If I can’t have blue skies outside, I shall create my own land of perpetually cheerful blue-ness…

For the Home:

  1. Old House Bookshelf, $179 [Urban Outfitters]
  2. Vintage Seiko clock, $31 [Etsy]
  3. Ikat Ochre Tea Towels, $20/2 [Furbish Studio]
  4. Typewriter Linocut, $20 [Etsy]
  5. Albero Pillow, $20 [CB2]
  6. Wandering Ikat Shade, $115 [Anthropologie]

For Me:

  1. Converse Hi Tops, $45 [Zappos]
  2. Silky Trouser Shorts, $78 [Madewell]
  3. Maritime Dress, $78 [J. Crew]
  4. Tasseled Scarf, $20 [Need Supply]
  5. Delicate Genuine Turquoise Cuff Bracelet, $20 [Urban Outfitters]

Still not convinced? Just look at these pictures and try not to smile…

My name is Katie and I am a throw pillow addict. To be perfectly honest, I have never met a throw pillow I did not like.  With the magic ability to transform a cold and uninviting room into a cozy abode, they just scream “home” to me.  There is always a place in my house for just…one…more.

So, imagine my excitement when I came across these vintage embroidered pillow covers at Myrorna (my favorite thrift store)!

I can see them working like so:

Print {Pedlars}, Lamp {Furbish Studio}, Sofa {Swedese}, Rug {West Elm}

What do you think? Are you feelin’ the throw pillow love?
