This weekend, we welcomed a new member to our family – a pug puppy named Lou. We might be biased, but we think she could very well be the cutest puppy in the whole wide world.
searching for the simple refinement in everyday things
I have wanted wallpaper in my house for the last five years – ever since I visited Sweden one Christmas and flipped through an issue of Sköna Hem that had a story on its comeback in the world of home decor. I have finally decided that I am brave enough to do it. Wallpaper in the entryway is happening, my friends. Here are a few of the pictures that have inspired me to take the plunge:

I have been a very slack blogger lately. Not just because of the trip to Spain. Truth be told, I’ve been in a sort of blogging slump. I haven’t felt a real desire to do anything with the blog and I’m feeling a crisis of “where is this going” sort of thing. I’m still working that out, so be patient with me! On the brighter side, it seems that a lot the creative energy that was going into the blog has been redirected into projects around the apartment. I thought I’d share with you some of the things I’ve accomplished during my phase of lightly blogging.
Not too shabby, eh?
Sorry I haven’t been much of a blogger lately, everyday life is just currently winning in the battle over my time. And now I’m off on a two week trip to Spain that I am pretty darn excited about. But, I promise that I’ll come back refreshed and ready to tell you about all the things I’ve been up to lately…
Have a wonderful few weeks!
Is what’s currently going on in my poor little head. Projects I’m currently considering:
Wooden pallet turned coffee table. Except maybe with two stacked on top of each other. But I like the glass top. And wheels. (or is this played out?)
Printing my own fabric. Definitely for some much loved throw pillas, and maybe even for recovering a $10 chair.
Trash can turned industrial pendant light for the bedroom, minus the fabric shown in the directions. (Maybe painted bronze?)
Make our dark wood armoire in the bedroom look as close to this as possible. (via here)
And these just for me.
Not to mention painting our kitchen table and chairs, making curtains, finding art for the walls, making an inside garden…The list is long my friends, very long.
I am currently having a Jeckel/Hyde moment in regards to our tiny little bathroom. One side of me wants bright and happy and girly, and the other side of me wants, well, the exact opposite. Of course I have some time on my hands, so I got crafty to see how my visions would look in computer real-life. Now, I need your help deciding.
First option is in your face girly that I’m pretty sure I’d have to do when the Swede is asleep. I’m thinking purple ceiling, ba-right yellow shower curtain and a pretty print.
print / mirror / shower curtain / soap dispenser / dish / towels
OR
I could opt for sophisticated and subdued with black and white, a botanical shower curtain, and splashes of gold. Still girly, but just manly enough:
frame gallery / shower curtain / mirror / glass jars / towels / laundry basket
Now that I’m finished, this exercise really just made me realize that I am so not an option 1 kind of girl. Sophisticated manliness it is.

Wondering how some people manage to make their clutter and chaos look so pretty.
Don’t worry, I’m still alive! Sorry for the sudden radio silence. This week was the big move to the new apartment and I thought I’d have time to post some things to the blog, but I have not had one moment’s rest! Expect things to be back up and running this weekend!
I thought I’d begin by sharing some of the photos I took throughout the week while moving and settling in…
My friend is preggers (yay!) and she’s doing a jungle inspired room for her little man!! My thoughts are: gray walls with one blue accent wall where the specifically-requested monkey could hang out. Pops of yellow and orange bring some fun into the room, and the rug and print tie it all together.

This green bike, the result of Kate Spade’s new collaboration with Adeline Adeline, makes me wish spring would just get here already. I would slap a basket on this bad boy and cruise it down to the beach to spend the day reading in the sun. Henrik says maybe by July…
