Cool table

by kmcopeland

This is a cool idea for a table. Hard to see but it’s four crates of wine bottles supporting a glass table top. An easy DIY!

Sorry I didn’t blog yesterday, I was en route to Dublin, Ireland! The Swede and I have a packed schedule, so you’ll just have to make due with pretty pictures from the Emerald Isle for the next few days. ūüôā Here are some to start you off, all taken by the Swede himself.

Our first pints of Guinness at The Dawson Lounge, “Probably the Smallest Pub in Ireland”

A pretty collection of shoe molds at Market Bar

On Target

by kmcopeland

Big news – Target is celebrating its 5 year anniversary of its designer collaborations with a special Go International collection that drops March 13. The collection features pieces from 17 of the designers that Target has previously collaborated with, and FabSugar offered a sneak peak last week. Best of all? Every item is under $50.

I hesitate to write this because maybe I’m just in a mood and will love them tomorrow, but I’m a little disappointed with the collection. They are all re-releases-nothing that you haven’t seen before. And overall the selection left me with a feeling of…meh. You should definitely go¬†here and check them out for yourselves, but the only ones I am mildly excited about are:

On a more positive note, Target has some really cute stuff in home goods that make me really, really miss my Sunday afternoon shopping sessions. I see this being a monthly feature on this here blog. What do you think?

To all my baby-making friends: I hope you like hippos because Auntie Katie is going to be the official hippo lady.

Sunday Funday

by kmcopeland

Bolaget is a realty company in Sweden who (I think) takes some of the best pictures of homes and flats for sale. I love going to their website and just browsing their listings – the styling and photography never disappoints and I always end up getting an idea or two.

Today is my lucky day because I just discovered that they have an “Inspiration” section on their website where they have collected some of their best pictures over the years. Here are some of my faves:

I normally don’t like a lot of pink, but that last room just made me smile today.¬†Hope you have your own Sunday Funday!

Friday’s Fancy: Ombre Dishes

by kmcopeland

If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I am seriously digging the¬†70’s trend, so I was delighted to come across¬†Sketch42’s blog post about purple ombre dishes.¬†Said my gut to me:¬†those are fabulous and you have to have some immediately. Honestly, I don’t know how I’ve managed to live this long without owning an ombre dish set. Everything seems so lackluster now…so dull…so solid-colored. I am convinced that life will be exponentially better once I have ombre dishes in my possession: my cocktails will be perfectly mixed; my water will always have cut up lemons and/or limes in it; everyone will want to come to parties at my house. ¬†I have found some that I like but would like you to weigh in:

Teal & fabulous:

via Etsy

Turquoise & equally fabulous:

on Etsy

Metal & badass:

The first two pictures are not a set, but I think I could get away with having all of it together. Plus, they are very much my color of the moment. While the silver ombre glasses are FANTASTIC, I really hate that there are only three. What do you think?

Trendspotting: 70s Chic

by kmcopeland

In case you haven’t heard, the 70’s are back in full force. From the runways to home decor, the decade is having a major moment, and I kind of like it. Not in the avocado shag carpeting with orange kitchen kind of way so much as the craftsy kitsch meets 70’s glam kind of way.

Would I run wild with it in my entire house? I’d like to think not. But I do think the individual items are pretty sick on their own. Just look at that owl letter holder and tell me you aren’t happily humming the tune to “Three’s Company” and fantasizing about terrycloth onesies.

For the House:

1. Bargello Red & Blue Rug, $170 [Clayton Gray Home]
2. Springbok Benches, $1698 [Anthropologie]
3. Woods Wallpaper, Coral, $198 [Anthropologie]
4. Caviar Pendant Cluster Light, $3300 [Clayton Gray Home]
5. Owl Letter Holder, $24 [Urban Outfitters]
6. Fluted Curved Stool, $299 [Room & Board]
7. Midas Collection Glassware, $25-$60 [Design Within Reach]

For your Closet:

1. Dipped Front Shirt, $63 [ASOS]
2. Wooden Disks Necklace, $54 [ASOS]
3. Catarzi Felt Floppy Hat, $54 [ASOS]
4. Faux Snakeskin Platform Wedges, $150 [Topshop]
5. Rose Tiered Chiffon Maxi Dress, $135 [Topshop]
6. Vintage Flare Jeans, $70 [Gap]

by kmcopeland

This week’s featured flat has no chance of every being a reality for us, but it is too awesome not to share.¬†Blogger Lotta Agaton is looking for a new home and posted pictures of this one last week. I love the high ceilings, the huge windows with amazing views and the pops of orange and yellow throughout the house. One can always hope…

Good news: it didn’t work for her family so it’s still available! Happy bidding!
